I called in to get some information prior to scheduling an appt and was completely impressed by Jessica who answered the phone. Not only was she courteous and friendly, but she was so knowledgeable and  was able to answer every question I had! I found Dr. Chavez truly by accident – well, kinda. I was looking for a new optometrist that fit a couple of criteria: 1. In East Austin, 2. Preferably Latino, 3. Accepted my Vision Insurance, 4. Didn’t RUSH me out.

What I found was a very welcoming staff, a tech that went beyond to make sure my glasses fit perfectly. What has me RAVING is that Dr. Chavez spent as much time as I needed in order to get the PERFECT vision with my contacts and glasses… I can’t say enough great things about Dr. Chavez & his staff at Eye Capitol. If you need eye care,  Eye Capitol is where you should go.

Dr. Chavez is really fantastic. He’s very friendly and knowledgeable and didn’t talk down to me as some other optometrists have done. He let me know exactly why I’ve been having trouble with my contacts, told me what I can do to solve the problem, advised me on new contacts and wrote me a prescription, and gave me some really good information about Lasik surgery, which I’ve been thinking about for awhile.

Dr. Chavez is great! He spent a good amount of time with me explaining a few eye conditions I have, options for treatments and went above and beyond any other eye doctor I’ve seen over the years. He’s a intelligent, easy to get along with eye doctor.  I specifically was looking for a coupon for a eye doctor and was so happy to see yelp had one which made this visit/exam/contacts much more affordable since I do not have eyeglass/contact insurance.  Highly recommend!

I found this optometrist office through Yelp and could not have been more pleased! I was able to call and be seen within the hour. The secretary was sweet and the office very nice and clean. Dr. Chavez was extremely helpful and personable. I didn’t even need to spend the extra money to get prescription eyedrops, he gave me several different eye drops to help with my infection. He was nice and even gave me extra just in case. I’d recommend them to anyone for a pleasant and affordable experience!
